Climate Comix: Preventative Detention

[Over the past few weeks, I have been translating and reposting highlights from Spanish cartoonist Ramon's series on climate change. You can find the originals in El Pais here, and earlier translations here. Click for larger clearer image.]

This is a response to the 1000 or so people detained at the climate demonstrations in Copenhagen over the weekend. Despite the often sensational headlines, it's worth remembering that the rallies both in Copenhagen and around the world were almost entirely peaceful. They were more rallies FOR ambitious changes rather than demonstrations against any one country, company, or economic system. I've got a bit more on that in an earlier post.

About

This is a blog for news and views on the future of sustainable cites. A major revamp is in the works. Until then I am keeping this version up as an archive of my past writing.

You can expect occasional updates, but not with the same frequency as in the past.

You can also find my writing on urban redesign and sustainability in ReNew Canada, The Mark, Sustainable Cities Canada, WorldChanging, and other more specialized academic publications.

Info on my consulting work, c.v. and current research focus is all here.
